Every case is different, but we always communicate clearly with our clients about how much our investigations cost. A thorough investigation often takes time, and it can sometimes be difficult to estimate exactly what an investigation will involve until we begin the assignment. However, we recognize that our clients’ budgets do not allow for open-ended investigations, and we are very used to working within strict budgets and time constraints.

When you contact us and tell us about your case, we will provide you with an estimate based on the likely time required, the complexity of the investigation, and the likelihood that we will be called upon to provide testimony. We often discount our rates for repeat clients, and we are very accustomed to creating customized billing arrangements. We generally require retainers from non-law firm clients. In every case that we work, the estimate and scope of the investigation will be clearly spelled out in our agreement.

Once an investigation begins, we track the time spent on your case in tenth-of-an-hour increments, using a two-tiered rate structure for partners and associate investigators. Every task we do on your case is clear and well documented. We believe strongly that clear communication with our clients makes for more successful investigations. If the case takes an unexpected turn and it looks like the investigation will likely require more time than what was initially estimated, we will notify you and ask for permission to increase the budget. Our clients always control the cost of their investigations.

Please call or email us today, tell us about your case, and ask about our current partner and associate rates. We can usually provide an estimate over the phone or otherwise send you an agreement detailing the terms of our services within one hour.
