Partner Philip Becnel was quoted in an article in Virginia Lawyers Weekly called, “Lawyer sued after murder of process server.” The article is about a private investigator who was murdered by a defendant while serving divorce papers and about how the investigator’s family later sued the attorney who hired him for not warning the investigator that the defendant was armed and potential dangerous. The article quotes Philip as pointing out there there is “little precedent for lawyers giving warnings about the targets of process service.”
