A recent Washington City Paper article, called “The Thinned Blue Line,” featured a former D.C. Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) detective named Joe Belfiore, who joined the growing ranks of officers who left the department. The article describes a mass exodus of seasoned officers, disillusioned with the increasingly stats-driven and punitive environment there, not to mention the lack of a pay increase in seven years.
The article says of Joe, “He has a cerebral quality to go along with the requisite ‘street smarts’ found in many good cops.” We couldn’t agree more, which is why we’re very proud to announce that Dinolt Becnel & Wells Investigative Group LLC has hired Joe as a case manager. Joe is not only smart as a whip, but he is also one hell of a nice guy and an outside-of-the-box thinker who would complement any private investigations outfit.
We hope that Joe finds our firm an enduringly “cool place to work,” like in his early years at the MPD. Although we don’t want to make light of the problems outlined in the article, we are very honored that one of the MPD’s best and brightest decided to join us and help us become even better.
