Alexandra Becnel

Partner

When it comes to criminal defense investigations, client relationships are by far my favorite part of the work. Everyone has a story. It's my job to learn that story and help it positively change the case's outcome.

Alexandra is a licensed private investigator in Maryland, Washington, D.C., and West Virginia, a licensed social worker, and a certified forensic social worker. Before joining Dinolt Becnel & Wells Investigative Group in 2020, Alexandra was a mitigation investigator for the Northern Virginia Capital Defender Office. There, she did investigations on behalf of people facing the death penalty in Virginia. She earned a bachelor’s degree in fine arts from the Maryland Institute College of Art and her master’s in social work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. At our firm, Alexandra conducts interviews for criminal investigations in and around D.C. and Baltimore. She specializes in mitigation investigations, serious felonies, and cases involving aspects of mental health.

In addition to her work with Dinolt Becnel & Wells Investigative Group, Alexandra is a part-time law student at The University of Baltimore School of Law, where she was the Editor in Chief of The University of Baltimore Law Review, and is a Maryland State Bar Association Business Law Fellow.
